The real estate company behind the Space Mountain amusement park in Las Vegas is seeking to lease space on its property to tenants in its newest development.
The Las Vegas developer of the park and the Space Island complex, Space Mountain, is trying to find a tenant to operate a temporary exhibition hall on its site at the Space and Science exhibit, located at the edge of the Las Vegas Strip.
“We’ve been exploring opportunities to lease an office space to the tenants,” Space Mountain developer Josh Lehner told The Verge in an email.
“Space Island has a history of success and we’re looking to build on that and expand our footprint beyond Las Vegas.”
Space Island, the company’s latest project in the Las Angeles County region, is a mixed-use development that is being constructed in partnership with the California Department of Housing and Community Development.
The development is slated to be completed in 2019.
Lehner said that Space Island has been on the market for about five years, and it is “ready to be built.”
Lehner, a Las Vegas native, said he plans to rent the space to tenants who work in the entertainment industry and want to share it with others who are looking to work in a space.
“If you are a creative person, this is a great opportunity to work and have your own space and your own work space,” he said.
Lehenko said that his company would also be willing to lease the space for other uses, including a performance space and a concert hall.
Space Island is scheduled to open in 2019 and has been dubbed “a unique opportunity for entertainment in an innovative, high-density, multi-purpose environment.”
Lehner said the project will be designed to “enable the most innovative, innovative creative industries in the world to work together in harmony.”
Lehenko has been in talks with the city of Las Vegas, the Metropolitan Transportation Commission and the Las Venados Water and Power Authority.
“This will be a new level of entertainment that will bring an international element to our development,” Lehner wrote in an e-mail.
