Tucson, AZ — (MEDIA WIRE) — Arizona will begin the construction of 10 homes for Century 21 Real Estate in Sedona, AZ, a real estate development company announced today.
Century 21 is the parent company of the Sedona-based Century 21 Properties and owns the Sedonian Real Estate Corporation, the Arizona-based development company that purchased Century 21 for $1.2 billion.
“The Sedona project represents an important step toward creating an economic and cultural hub for the town of Sedona and beyond,” said Scott Wertz, president of Century 21.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Sedona’s community and support the development of this unique and iconic asset.”
The new Century 21 Sedona home is located at a corner of Route 1 and Route 35.
“This is a great opportunity for the Sedons, who will benefit from the construction and modernization of a world-class hotel and the creation of a new community hub,” said Mayor John Sargent.
“It’s going to be a new era for Sedona.”
Century 21 owns the three remaining Century 21 properties in Sedonia, Tempe and Prescott.
Century 17, which also has a hotel and office complex, will move its operations to a new facility in Sedora.
“As a community, Sedona is excited to welcome Century 21 to Sedona,” said Sedona Mayor John M. Sargant.
“With the Sedonic Homes development, Century 21 will be the first private development to provide housing in Sedon.
Century 16 has long been the site of an important business and industrial hub, but now the Century 21 project will provide more affordable housing for residents of Sedon and the surrounding area.”
Sedona will also get the opportunity to become a leader in tourism.
Sedona City Councilman Jason Williams said the new Sedona hotel will bring in more visitors to the town and increase revenue for the local government.
“Our goal is to have more visitors come to Sedon, and the Sedon Town Center is already packed,” said Williams.
“If this hotel project is completed, we can expect an additional 200,000 visitors to Sedons city each year.”
Century 20, which is located in the town, will be moved to a separate facility in Tempe.
“Since we bought Century 20 in 2003, we’ve invested heavily in the Sedanian development, and we are confident that this project will be a catalyst for the future development of Sedonian,” said Eric Stahl, president and CEO of Century 20.
“Tempe has a strong history of success with development, but Century 20 will bring a new perspective and opportunity to Tempe, creating jobs, creating economic opportunities, and bringing a more professional atmosphere to Sedonian.”
Century 15, which has an office building, is currently in the planning stages.
“A strong Sedonian community is crucial to our long-term economic future,” said Sargion.
“To provide the Sedanese community with a strong and diverse economy and the opportunity for success, this project is a win-win for both our community and Century 21.”
