A man accused of murdering a woman in her hotel room in Florida was arrested Monday.
Brandon Allen, 21, was charged with murder, kidnapping, robbery and domestic violence in the death of 22-year-old Kristina Avila.
Court records show that Avilala, a student at University of Central Florida, was in her room at the Hilton Orlando Resort and Spa in Lake Worth, Fla., when Allen allegedly pulled a knife on her and told her to take off her clothes.
She then got up, but Allen got her into his car, which he drove to her home in Lakewood, Fla.
Court documents show that Allen then allegedly drove to a home in Jacksonville and stabbed Avilo in the chest, chest and arm, before taking her to her room and shooting her in the head.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office released a surveillance video from the room where Avilao was murdered.
The video shows Allen in the room, armed with a knife, talking to a woman, who appears to be Avilas mother.
Allen is accused of taking the woman to his hotel room where he stabbed her in her home, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff, where she was found dead.
Avila’s family says Allen was living in Florida at the time of her death.
She had recently relocated to Jacksonville from Florida, according with a GoFundMe page set up for her.
Allen’s bail was set at $25,000, according the Jacksonville Sheriffs Office.
He has been arrested and charged with one count of murder.
